The BC Provincial Court is excited to announce the launch of a new website in beta on September 16, 2024. The new modern design has a fresh look and feel with improved navigation and accessibility for all users. The site is also adaptive for viewing on smartphones and tablets.  

The website's homepage URL https://www.provincialcourt.bc.ca remains the same. Most other page and document links are different. Find the new location of some of the most popular content from our previous website.

The Court’s previous website was launched ten years ago and is close to the end of its life cycle. In addition, BC's public legal information providers have developed a wealth of user-friendly online information on Provincial Court procedures in the last decade. As a result, the new website contains fewer guides and less detailed "how to" information. Instead, we provide links to other websites that offer the information people need in easy-to-understand formats.

Our goal was to create a website that is user-centered, welcoming, reliable, easy to navigate, uses plain language and offers information in various mediums including videos. In keeping with the Court’s mission to be accessible, fair, and innovative, the new website is mobile-friendly and meets government accessibility standards. You will also find new features such as a glossary of terms, a quick exit button, improved search capability, the ability to download a pdf of a page to print or save, and more graphics. 

We consulted with users in developing the website to understand what they need and how they look for information, and we're looking for feedback. The new site is still a work in progress. Launching it in beta allows the Court to get users' comments and resolve any problems before an official launch later in the year.
